Latest Meeting with Labour MPs

20 July 2018

As you may have read in the latest edition of Pensions Newsline, the Trustees of the Scheme were due to meet with the Labour MPs again following their last meeting on 18 October 2017. This meeting took place on 26 June 2018, where discussions on potential future initiatives to improve outcomes for our members continued. The MPs continue to share the Trustees' desire to consider ways to improve member outcomes.
As our members will be aware, changes to the Scheme's Rules can only be made with the agreement of the Guarantor. As mentioned in Pensions Newsline, the Trustees have recently met with Claire Perry, the minister within the Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy with responsibility for MPS, to discuss potential changes. The Trustees will continue to work in the interests of the members across all aspects of running the Scheme.
